Demolition of Friendship Baptist Church, 437 Mitchell Street Southwest on July 29, 2014 in Atlanta, Ga. The church, founded in 1866 and Atlanta’s oldest black church, received more than $19 million for the land from the Atlanta Falcons. which will will be used to accommodate a new football stadium. The church held its last service in the building on May 25, and is temporarily holding services at Morehouse College while the new building will be built on recently purchased land a few blocks from this location.
