As we start a new year, I’m taking a look back at 2018 and sharing my favorite images. It was an amazing year, and I’m continually reminded of how lucky I am to make a living taking pictures. I’ve gone through everything I shot over the past 12 months, and narrowed it down to 25 photographs. They are presented here in chronological order, and include sports, political assignments and personal stories, as well as a few previously unpublished images from my personal and commercial work. Where possible, links are provided.

Gameday Experience for the Atlanta Falcons
At every Falcons game, you can easily spot the photographers stacked on the sidelines, capturing each play, hit, touchdown, tackle, and dog pile. They’re the ones wearing the brown NFL vests and holding thousands of dollars worth of equipment, hoping to be in the best position possible when the Big Play happens. Jason Heyward Traded to Cardinals
There were a lot of upset Braves fans yesterday, as they learned that hometown player Jason Heyward would be traded to the Cardinals. Since the Henry County, Ga. native started his professional career with the Braves in 2010, he has been a fan favorite and a lot of fun to watch. As a tribute to Heyward’s time with the Braves, I’m posting a few of my favorite frames of him. [Read more…] about Jason Heyward Traded to Cardinals
Chipper Jones Number Retirement
On Friday, The Ted was sold out, but it wasn’t because fans came only to see the Braves take on the Diamondbacks. People packed into every possible crevasse (and then some) to see their beloved Chipper step on the grass for perhaps the last time. Chipper, who played all of his 19 MLB seasons with the Braves, retired from the game last year, and they retired his famous No. 10 during a pre-game ceremony.
